FILLING PIECES
I designed a collection for Filling Pieces with the project Pelts as its central theme. The season focuses on whites, off-whites, neutrals, and browns, with animal-inspired textures that recreate pelts without cruelty. Materials such as yak, cashmere, wool, and camel form the base of this luxurious yet functional wardrobe, layering natural fibres to keep the wearer warm. Birds like peace doves, ostriches, swans, and owls inspire subtle references, while playful nods to chickens and foxes add character. Faux furs and sustainable approaches are essential, reflecting a growing awareness of animal welfare and ecological responsibility. Neutral tones dominate, enriched by stained techniques and dark accents that mimic the grace of animal movement. Textiles such as hairy tweeds, velour, frayed wovens, and knitted cloth create round, soft silhouettes across skirts, boiler suits, and coats. The collection is grounded in practicality yet elevated by its wild, tactile aesthetic, perfectly aligning with Filling Pieces’ forward-thinking identity.
